Pre-Halloween Fun

Yesterday we got BOO'D.  Here is the page that came with the treats.  It's really cute...then we went out and BOO'D two families tonight and when we got back, we had been BOO'D again!!!  We had ours up in the window, so we weren't really supposed to get it again, but we did!

Also, for supper tonight I made these mummie-weenies...and I thought they turned out pretty cute!  

Yikes...somehow I erased my post from yesterday completely!  duh.  Well, I was posting basically about frustrations with my house.  We were still holding out hope of moving in before Christmas.  Last year we moved in the second week of December.  It was kinda fun...lots of work, you know.  And Christmas was kind of a blur.  I didn't feel prepared, or very Christmas-y at all.  So, I geuss if we can't move in before that time, maybe I"ll be able to focus more on it?  I dunno...we are all feeling very frustrated right now.

I opened the door to take the kids to school this morning...and this was the first thing I saw from the doorway!  I hope I never take this scene for granted...

A Cool Present!

I think my bday presents from yesterday were the best!  I saw these book sets in Costco one day and wanted them, but thought I wouldn't spend the money on them.  Then I was so mad after cause I knew they wouldn't be there next time I went...you know Costco.  I was so surprised yesterday to get BOTH sets!  They are classic leather bound books...Charles Dickens, and a romance set.  Good stuff!!!

PRIMED

OUR HOUSE IS PRIMED!  We bought a sprayer this time, and Pete started yesterday.  He has one more closet to go, and he's completley done...ceilings, garage...everything.  I'm so amazed at how quickly it went, and so excited that I didn't have to do any of it!  Now, the moldings and then we paint the colors.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Yesterday we had a great turkey dinner at Wright's...everyone except Maria's family was there...and then today we had a great pizza thanksgiving meal at Bakers.  It was EASY and gave everyone a nice break.  Only next year, we'll also use paper plates!

October 9th...

 
Yesterday, October 9th was Pete's birthday.  He is now closer to 40 than 30!  Which is fine, cause I'll be 36 in a few days too...

It was also my one year anniversary for working at the library!  When I started thinking about looking for a job, I was always hoping for the library...but you hardly ever see positions advertised there.  I was really wanting something besides laundry to do every day, so I started thinking seriously about it last september.  One day on the way home from Lethbridge I thought to myself "I just wish I could look in the paper and see a great little part time job advertised sometime"  ...I seriously picked up the paper on the way home that very day and saw two positions at the library advertised.  I remember feeling very strongly about that job.  I was so excited when I got it!  

AND it's been a HUGE help having a part time job through the whole house-fire drama.  I dont' know what I would have done without it!  I have also been reading like a crazy person for a whole year...never wondering what I should read next!  It's insane.

New Calgary temple announced!

I think this is great...conference was SO good this last weekend.  I enjoyed all of it!  But what was really fun, was hearing the announcement of 5 new temples...one of which will be in NW Calgary!  How cool is that?  That will bring total temples up to 128.  Just amazing!  

Need I say anything?  Come on!

Whew, this kid has had a lot going on!  He was invested into cubs yesterday.  He seems pretty excited to start earning those badges!  He looked a little clueless with the howling and dibb dibb stuff (almost as clueless as I am ) but he'll catch on...
