Partay!

Friday nite we had a little halloween party at our house. I've always wanted to have one...every year I say that I wish I had! Well, this year I decided to just make invitations and pass them out...and then I couldn't get out of it!!!

It was a small, but really nice group! We played some games, some guitar hero, and more games!

These are spider cookies...can you tell?


These potato skins were supposed to have faces, but after they were put in the oven the faces kind of melted all saggy.

Note to self: the Leechees MIGHT look like floating eyeballs, but the "flavor" they add to the punch, is NOT worth it!

busy stuff

-yikes...days off for me are almost crazier than my work days!!! especially lately with all the hours at the library...

-if i am not at the library, or in leth, than i have a bazillion things to catch up on at home...

anyhow, just baking up a storm today. so far i've made pumpkin woopie pies, witch hats, and spider cookies. just a little prep and trial work for a party this weekend...

-later we're heading to the ward carnival where i will be an angel and Pete will be the devil. once it awhile it's nice to dress up something you can NOT relate to!!! this is what we're aiming for this year..

-well, apparently i DO have time to write on my blog, so it can't be all that bad!

just saw this and LOVED it. Ayden and i went downtown. now SOME people don't like my taste in movies, so perhaps they should miss this one. however, i thought it was GREAT!!!

ENTERTAINING THEMSELVES

bdays...

yup, we have 4 bdays within a month in this household!!!

Pete had his on the 9th...mine was yesterday.

we didn't do much. last week we went to Calgary overnight...so we counted that as our party i suppose. it was fun...so that's good!!!

i will say that my parents gave me a pizza party yesterday, and i got a flu shot. the latter thing not as fun as the first.

AND i have wonderful friends who dropped by...love that!

Today I attended regional training for YW's in Leth...along with the rest of of the presidency...sister Ann Dibb (president Monson's daughter) spoke to us. It was fantastic I must say...and i learned much to use in young women's!!!

It was a fun day with three great friends...

Another highlight of the day? A friend of Ben's mom pulled into the driveway and asked me if my brother was at home (aka BEN) hahaha. It's gotta be the baby-fat cheeks and ZITS...it works every time.

something appealing...

....about this one. I'm using it sunday for my lesson. I have a thing for OLD things...radios, phones, typewriters, movies...etc. love them. so, maybe that is what appeals about this one...however the message is so true...and I know I need to slow down and just listen.

I enjoy movies...but i have my likes, and dislikes. And I'm picky as far as content goes...
Anyhow, here are 2 GREAT movies I saw this week...
First, INCEPTION. Amazing! loved it! I probably didn't understand it totally, but I am convinced of the ending...if anyone cares to discuss. Very well done!!!!

...sniff....LOVED toy story. Sad though, as the first one came out when Ben was born. SO...my kids kind of grew up with this one. Then it was about Andy growing up and leaving home...so kind of sad in a way. And the end of some great pixar movie-making!! sniff...

now, um, the miss. "Letters to Juliet"...seriously? I knew the whole plot via the trailer ahead of time...however, you knew the plot by watching the first 5 minutes. it was incredibly BORING...not funny, and not cute! blah.

back to it!!

I thought my days of being a choir-mom were over!!
Last week Ayden approached the choir director all on his own. I haven't said a single word about it! He wasn't invited to be in choir...but he did ASK. So, the director asked him to audition and he did it all on his own....and VOILA! He is in choir!!
This is the number one elementary choir in CANADA right now...
PLUS...I have always always loved being involved with choir. So exciting!
Good job Ayden!!!
