it's a good day to have a good day

sometimes you just have THAT DAY. yesterday was that day. a workout-gone-wrong...causing new muscle spasms and therefore being useless. blueberries flying all over the kitchen. the van dying. ahhh...yesterday was as bad as it gets. but that was then- and today is a new day!! it can't get any worse right?

marathon teachings...

no, i'm not running a marathon.
recently, Ayden and i had a Harry Potter Marathon...it was fun!!! took us a week...and i was reminding once again what fabulous quotes JK used in her books...particularly coming from Dumbledore...
some examples...
“After all to the well organized mind, death is but the next great adventure.”

“Do not pity the dead Harry. Pity the living, and, above all, those who live without love.”

“Differences of habit and language are nothing at all if our aims are identical and our hearts are open.”

“It is a curious thing, but perhaps those who are best suited to power are those who have never sought it. Those who have leadership thrust upon them, and take up the mantle because they must, and find to their own surprise that they wear it well.”

“It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.”

“It is important to fight and fight again, and keep fighting, for only then can evil be kept at bay though never quite eradicated.”

“Dark times lie ahead of us and there will be a time when we must choose between what is easy and what is right.”

“It is our choices...that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.”

“Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”

“It’s the unknown we fear when we look upon death and darkness, nothing more.

I'm sure there are many more, but those are some good ones...i like them ALL. ,
i had a mom in the library a month or so ago ask for stories that were NOTHING like Harry Potter because HP has NO MORALS...in her words. WHAT??!!! she has obviously never read the books or seen any movies. i find them highly moral and slightly religious! i don't get people.

and this, is my favourite of the 2 Dumbledores. Boy, i was choked when he died!!! hehe.

nice people.

had a bit of a problem saturday night. back spasms out of the blue, right before bed. i can't explain the feelings of PANIC that i had. i had a very hard time relaxing and sleeping. the potential of backsliding...or starting all over as far as treating back pain goes- is completely overwhelming.
anyhow. yesterday i stayed home. i had to...i could hardly walk. Pete gave me a blessing, did ultrasound, rubbed my back. i took two scalding hot baths...stretched...and rested a lot.
but the whole day i was fairly scared. would it go away? would i have to start all over? i couldn't stand the thought.
my spirits were lifted quite a bit by a few things.
- pete willing to help me with whatever i needed, despite being sick himself.
-my kids coming in to my room after church and lunch- and hanging out on my bed with me.
-a good friend bringing over a hot pizza later in the day. (thanks Betsy!!!)
thank the heavens this morning i feel a bit better. i can walk at least! sore- but i can walk. i have been stretching this morning...and will do it all day long.
the other night when i was thinking "why me!?"...i thought right away, "why NOT me". people have problems. pain...that is one of mine. i will do my best to continue to deal with it.
but thank goodness for kind friends and family in life- they make things much much better.

a little something great

i love this site. you subscribe and pay a monthly fee, and you get unlimited access to a HUGE variety of pilates workouts. so you never get bored! fantastic! you can also choose workouts based on props you own (roller, balls, circle) etc. you choose based on time, level, props...etc. so so so nice. i HATE doing the same workouts over and over so this provides some fantastic variety! highly recommend..

continuing saga...

well, i went for shots #8 today...AND...no shots. i was surprised, and when he gave me the news i felt really sad. don't get me wrong, i did NOT miss the shots- but they were SOMETHING and they gave me hope.

now- for the next plan of action. he wants to wait till after my MRI in feb, and rule out a few things via blood tests like inflammatory sacroiliitis for one. i have to admit, that might be a possibility. we shall see.

afterwards, if everything is clear- i will opt for a few more prolotherapy treatments. they ARE helping...just slower than most.

so for now, he has given me lots of exercises to do- which i am already doing via pilates. so- i guess i will do more of those more often.
and that is this month's update.

PET PEEVE OF THE DAY...WHEN PEOPLE DON'T SAY THANKS. WHY DON'T PEOPLE SAY THANKS. IT IS UNBELIEVABLY RUDE, AND MAKES ME WANT TO TAKE BACK WHATEVER WAS DONE OR GIVEN.

-ayden- i wish it was still 2011...
~tessa~ 2011 was an ok year. lots of memories made and fun times with friends and family!! I'm really looking forward to 2012 even though we're all gonna die ;)
-ben- 2012 is gonna be a crazy year
-cindy-2011 was good. improvements were made, things always get better. looking forward to 2012!!! time to print out the blog book.
-pete- 2011 was great! Once in a lifetime trip with my Dad and siblings to Nepal & Mt. Everest trek. Ben turned 16 and got his drivers license & is a Priest now. Tessa is 14 and also got her learners license. Today she did her first highway drive to Leavitt. Ayden is getting bigger all the time and is a lot of fun. And of course Cindy is what makes everything happen. What a wonderful woman I have!!! 2012 will be great! Other than the end of the world part in December....
