fun!

post- paper excitement!

it's hard to understand the anxiety of this situation- until you're IN IT!!  so imagine our relief when- out of all the missions in the world- Ben got called to the one place he always talked about going.  LONDON ENGLAND...south!!!  wow...he was shocked too!

 here we are face booking and looking at maps.  the area is going to be amazing...lots of old castles and architecture...Jane Austen central!  Dr. Who has been filmed in some areas, so Ben was happy to know that.
i just can't believe how this worked out, i am still so surprised by it all!
he is to be in the England MTC on Sept. 19th.  less than 4 months from now.

Doctor Who PARTAY

let me just say firstly, that i had been planning Ben's 18th bday for quite awhile.  i was collecting things for awhile that i thought would make for a great Doctor Who party.  Ben is a big fan- so it was perfect!  

in this first picture we have the Van Gough version of the doctor who painting...and the last "human" on earth- Cassandra.  you can also see the doctor's hand in the jar, and a red fez.  

(i realize that most people have no clue what any of this stuff is)

 here is a shot of the flying sharks.  they were from a certain episode...on the curtains was "fezzes are cool" and "bow ties are cool"  again...they are doctor references...

 some Dalek posters...and pictures on the wall.  on the table is a stetson hat, and "doctor who" in light letters.

here we are just getting ready.  Ben was downstairs and it took the four of us 1.5 hours to decorate...

 Here are the sontaurans.  they are aliens in the show...short little men that look like potatoes.  so we made baked potatoes and put faces on them.  pretty cool!!

 here we have "Wibbly-Wobbly-Timey-Wimey" jello.  yes, we are nerds...and dang proud of it!!!!

 the adipose guys.  adipose are basically fat.  literally FAT aliens.

 DALEK cookies.  the bakery made them using my cookie cutter, and i decorated them...
the doctor is a big fan of the edible silver balls too...so it was all relevant!

 TARDIS CAKE.  i am quite proud of myself...even though it's not the best- for my first fondant ever, it was okay!  i have since learned how to get rid of the extra powdered sugar...

 notice we even changed the lightshades over the island to look like flying saucers.

 here is my mask...i was a weeping angel when we called Ben upstairs.

 Ayden was the 10th doctor, and Tessa was a Slytheen.

kinda wishing there were more fans around...cause i am sure this all seems weird.  but we had fun!  and i think Ben really liked it all.  i should also add that we ate fish sticks and custard (11th doctor food) and pizza too.  a strange combination as stated by Pete.

I really can't believe Ben is 18.  it is very strange, but very fun and exciting to have watched him grow up into the wonderful person that he is!  can't wait to watch him continue on doing amazing things!

Ayden's first band concert!!

Ayden did so great on his french horn!!!  AND he won the draw, so that was fun for him.  Doesn't he look cute in his Bow Tie???

new pad

got me a new pad from pete for our anniversary.  and one thing led to another and we tried out all sorts of new photo apps.  we have to have our fun where we can get it!
