Happy Happy Birthdayssssss...

Tessa and Ayden both had bdays last week. Tess turned 12, Ayden turned 9. Tessa had her party friday, Ayden had his saturday.
Tessa's party had Pj's...homemade pretzels, an amazing race game, wierd hair-do's, lots of dancing, and to top it all off...a scary story which scared all the girls right before they went home. (thanks Tessa's friend)
Ayden's party was a crazy party...kids dressed up, did their hair, they also did an amazing silly race, games, ice cream cake...etc.
Bday parties now don't have to be quite as structured...which is nice. It's still a lot of work, which only means a lot of fun!!!!
Tessa is now in young women's which she thinks is great!
Here are some random pics from both days...

I love it when...

you read a book that you just can't put down. LOVE that!
Catching Fire was indeed one of those such books. It was perfect! More than I hoped for in a sequel...so well written.
Suzanne Collins knows how to grab you and keep you from ever putting it down...
I strongly recommend "The Hunger Games" first of course, and then this one...
I cannot WAIT for book 3. Only one year to wait...sigh

At it again and again...

My latest creations...YEAH I know they're wierd! That is part of the appeal for me...something unique and different...and they were fun to make!

Now on to the "value dolls" I made for my young women's class...it's a mia maid class and there are 9 girls. I tried to make them sort of look like the girl they are for. What? You think 14 and 15 year olds are too OLD for dolls...pish posh! I'm not too old, even though I'm pretty old now...so how can they be?
I'm actually going to work them into a lesson about living the value colors. All their dresses have all 8 value colors on them...so that is how I will attempt to work it in...something about living the colors they're wearing...
Anyhow, I had a great time making them this week...

Changing seasons...

Fall is my favorite season of the year....not because I look forward to winter, but because I love the colors, the cooler weather (call me crazy if you must), Halloween, back to school stuff, etc.

There are downsides like sicknesses (me this week) and snow...but I try not to think about them too much.
